With the arrival of Autumn our Chefs have been busy creating comfort foods to bring your taste buds into the change of season.
Autumn is all about indulging in flavoursome hearty dishes like our Confit duck leg, duck fat pomme anna potato, carrot anis purée, garlic green beans, thyme jus. You’ll find all sorts on our new menu – what will your new favourite be?
As a fresh food kitchen all of our menus are subject to availability and may vary depending on seasonal produce available on the day.

There is no denying it… Christmas 2025 is soon to be upon us!
The Sun will be decked out in all it’s festive glory, with our roaring open fire & festive menus running from the end of November in either the main bar or first floor Gin Library – you can expect a warm welcome, the best mulled cider or wine & Xmas jumpers a plenty!

Located just a stone’s throw from Carshalton Ponds, The Sun first opened its doors in 1866. Restored to its former glory in 2009, The Sun is an independent freehouse and has gained a reputation for its fresh seasonal food and service whilst retaining a relaxed pub atmosphere.
We welcome diners and drinkers alike, whether you’re coming to eat, relax in our beautiful walled garden or have a drink at the bar we will make sure your visit is an occasion to remember.
